John 15:8

“My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

The granting of petitions to abiding believers glorifies the Father, as does bearing “much” fruit. Answered prayer is one form of fruitfulness. All fruitfulness springs ultimately from the Son: the Vine. Therefore it is really the Son who is bringing glory to the Father through His abiding disciples. The believer’s fruitfulness is one means by which the Son glorifies the Father.

There are four relationships that need to be distinguished. Life in Christ is salvation. Life with Christ is fellowship. Life by Christ is fruit-bearing. Life for Christ is service. The ‘fruit’ is Christ manifested through us. The Father is glorified in the Son, in his obedience and perfect accomplishment of his work.

The love of Jesus growing in you as a Christian is becoming a harvest of praise for our Heavenly Father. A big Thanksgiving to God. Maybe you have people in your life who are demonstrating similar fruit of the spirit in their walk with Jesus. Abiding in Christ is to make sure that you are connected, bearing fruit, and communication with the Lord daily.
