Nehemiah 1:10

“They are Your servants and Your people whom You redeemed by Your great power and by Your strong hand.

Nehemiah reminded God of His promise to restore His people to their land if they repented.

He also noted that these were the people Yahweh had redeemed from Egyptian slavery for a special purpose.

When God’s people are in great distress and reproach and the wall between them and the pagan world is broken down, God is not glorified through His people because His people are not living any differently than the world lives. The wall symbolizes the distinctive difference between God’s people and worldly people in the way we think, the values we hold, and the way we relate to God and to one another. Every Christian needs to keep the walls in good repair around the city if his/her soul. Perhaps at one time our relationship with the Lord was strong and wonderful. But, often those walls begin to fall into disrepair, and when they do we are very vulnerable to attack from the enemy! Not only are we at risk, but so are our families.

Memory Verse: Psalm 113:1
The most formidable way to lead is to serve.
