Psalm 40:3

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

LESSON

David testified to his people that the Lord had answered his prayer for deliverance after a long time in which David had waited solely on the Lord. God had, at last, reestablished His servant. Consequently David had a new song of praise for the Lord. His praise would encourage others to

renew their confidence in Yahweh.

We are allowed a glimpse in these verses into the heart of King David. What we see in this Psalm also speaks to the saint of God today.  We are reminded here of what the Lord did for us when He reached way down into the depths of our sins and lifted us out by His power and His grace.  We are told about some blessings that have come to us because God also lifted us out of the mire and placed us into the choir.

Memory Verse: Genesis 1:1

The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.
