STRENGTH COMES FROM GOD

2 Timothy 4:17

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.
LESSON

The Lord,” however, had not abandoned His faithful servant on that occasion, but had “strengthened” Paul. Evidently Paul was able to give a word of witness at his hearing that furthered his mission to “the Gentiles.” He had so far escaped death, though he was ready to die as a martyr. The “lion’s mouth” may be a reference to the lions in the Roman Coliseum that were then devouring Christians.

Paul knew that the reason the Lord was standing by him was to give him strength and zeal and vision for world evangelization—”The Lord stood by me and gave me strength to proclaim the message fully, that all the Gentiles might hear it.” The Lord will stand by you, he will give you strength, he will rescue you from every evil, and save you for his heavenly kingdom.
Memory Verse: Philippians 4:13
