Our Shelter in Times of Storms

Psalm 91:1-4

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust .
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust : his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

LESSON

God Himself is the One who is the believer’s security. Those who rely on Him find that He is a shelter from the storms of life and a shadowy place of security, much like the area under a bird’s wing. He is a refuge where we can run for safety in times of danger and a fortress that will provide defense against attacking foes.

The opposite of faith is fear. Fear is the fruit of unbelief, and it opens the door of your life to the devil. Sixty three times in the Bible, the Lord used the phrase, “Fear not.” Christ has brought us out of the way of the world and into His kingdom. We are reassured that the Lord is protecting us from every evil, even though it rages around us, and even comes against us.
