Ecclesiastes 9:11

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Wisdom does not guarantee a good job or a prosperous future. Likewise, sometimes the fastest runner does not win a foot race and the stronger army does not win a battle. Usually the best succeed, but not always. The reason for this is that everyone is subject to misfortune that we cannot anticipate or control.

Perhaps you have been having symptoms of slow progress, failures at the edges of breakthrough, marital disappointment, and disfavor despite opportunities surrounding you. This is wrestling with shadows but the end to this will come. Just be patient and hold to God’s word.

Memory Verse: Romans 5:8
