Acts 24:16

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

Since Paul believed God would resurrect him, he sought to maintain “a clear (blameless) conscience” while he lived. Conscience is the capacity to feel guilt.

Christian life is in many ways a life of rest and putting burdens back towards God. But there are things we are encouraged in Scriptures to do and put effort towards. One of these things that Paul the Apostle over and over encouraged was believers in the Lord to be diligent to keep a clean conscience in all that they did. Conscience is a gift of God to keep us morally safe, at peace, and connected to Him.
