CARING FOR STRANGERS

May 21, 2015

Thursday

2 Chronicles 2:17-18

Solomon numbered all the aliens who were in the land of Israel, following the census which his father David had taken; and 153,600 were found. He appointed 70,000 of them to carry loads and 80,000 to quarry stones in the mountains and 3,600 supervisors to make the people work.

LESSON

For David had not only numbered his own people, but afterward the strangers, that Solomon might have a true account of them, and employ them about his buildings. Yet Solomon numbered them again, because death might have made a considerable alteration among them since David’s numbering.

How often do we as a church count the strangers that visit us each week? Or take the time to see that no harm has come to them, in or out of our mix.
