Ecclesiastes 6:10

That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he.

Solomon gave much practical advice on how to live. He did not let us forget that our understanding of God’s ways in the present and in the future is partial .Solomon’s point in verse 10 is that God has sovereignly decreed the nature and essence of everything that exists. Consequently it is foolish for man to argue with God about what He has foreordained.

Solomon confronts the popular view of prosperity in chapter 6. People equate wealth with happiness. Solomon warns that people who live apart from God are “never satisfied”. We are encouraged to trust in our sovereign God by looking for what is relatively good in times of adversity.
