FIGHTING FUTILITY

Psalms 39:4-5

“LORD, make me to know my end And what is the extent of my days; Let me know how transient I am.”Behold, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my lifetime as nothing in Your sight; Surely every man at his best is a mere breath. Selah.

LESSON

David finally found relief in expressing his frustration to God. He prayed that God would teach him to appreciate the brevity of human life. Evidently David was an old man at this time. His life seemed very short looking back on it. People measured short distances with handbreadths in David’s time .The pursuits of life is relatively insignificant in view of the short time we live.

Because life is short, you shouldn’t be idle. Make the best use of your life in discovering and doing God’s purpose in these end times. You may be older than dirt but be determined to live for the Lord in every way as He renews you day by day.
