2 Timothy 3:1-5

But understand this that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Paul instructed Timothy here concerning what God had revealed would take place in the last days. He did so to help him realize that he faced no unknown situation (to God) in Ephesus, and to enable him to combat it intelligently.

You and I should not fret when we look all around us and realize what an evil and dangerous time we’re living in, but let us try to remember that all these things that seem so frightful are nothing more than Prophecy being set up to come to pass.

Memory Verse: James 1:26
