JUSTICE

January 30, 2014

Thursday
Isaiah 30:18

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.

EXAMPLE

God’s mercy … goes before the unwilling to make him willing; it follows the willing to make his will effectual.

                                                                                                                                                               -Augustine of Hippo

LESSON

This verse shows us three aspects of God’s character as well as gives us instruction about how to live. He is a God of grace, a God of compassion, and yet He is a God of justice. How these three aspects work together in a Holy God is beyond our comprehension. All we can know is that we will be “blessed” if we wait on Him.

God is longing to answer the prayers of His people. If His people would authentically turn to Him, He would speak to us and revive us.

Memory Verse: Micah 6:8
