Leviticus 19:32

“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

Show me the man you honor and I will know what kind of man you are.

Thomas Carlyle

Honor is a precious thing. It is something that, in our deepest thoughts, we all desire and would like to have.  “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.”  “A man’s pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.” –Paul said in (Romans 12:10) “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

The generation gap is not all bad. Some gaps are good things. Like in spark plugs — the gap has to be just right to make the spark that drives the piston that runs the engine. In fact the Bible does not try to obliterate the generation gap; instead, it teaches us how to understand the gap and how to cross it with special kinds of respect.

Memory Verse: 1 Samuel 2:30
